layering manicure- south african seas
good morning everyone! sorry for waiting such a long time to post. i've been kind of sad/jealous about not going to CosmoProf Las Vegas, and have been quietly observing the beauty blogosphere erupt with new beauty information.over the weekend i did my very first franken! i don't actually know if i should even call it a franken, because all i really did was add a glitter to a polish. what i should have done was gotten an empty bottle so i could have added clear polish into the mix; but i'm a freshman in the nail polish world...oopsie! alright, alright, on to the manicure.first i used 2 coats of China Glaze Strong Adhesion base coat ( i didn't want any staining since i knew this was going to be a thick mani). i started with my franken, which is LA Colors Color Craze in teal. i used 1, thick, goopy coat of this...and i can't say i'll ever use this polish again. i bought it at the $1 store and the brush is definitely hard to work with. then i used 1 thin coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Deep Blue Sea. after that was dry i used another thin coat of Finger Paints in Art You Wondering? (an extremely sparkly, glittery sea of turquoise). for some extra sparkle, i added 1 last coat of Nicole by OPI in Nicole...Spotted! i used my oldie but goodie Rimmel 60 Second Lycra Top Coat for this mani. it feels like my nails are wearing little coats because the polish is so thick, but in the sun, this manicure is quite magical (like the seas of South Africa..which i saw on Shark Week last night!).
